Morpheus8 is a non-surgical fractional skin treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, the building blocks will reorganise themselves in a natural anti-ageing process improving skin laxity or treating overlying skin surface irregularities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The way Morpheus8 works is by creating micro-injuries on the skin using titanium microneedles, coupled with radiofrequency energy, which heats the layers deep to the skin.

The micro-injuries, in combination with the radiofrequency heating stimulate a reaction in the skin, which (over the following 3-6 months) increases the levels of collagen and elastin in the skin, to tighten and lift and thicken the supporting layers of the skin. This makes it an ideal treatment for sagging, lax or sun damaged skin of all skin types.

Morpheus8 is the first and only device to mold the fat subdermally in order to morph the aging facial features into a more youthful appearance.

The 24 coated pins penetrate into the subdermal tissue, coagulating the fat and contracting connective tissue. Simultaneously, directional RF energy generates bulk sub-necrotic heating in the dermis.

Morpheus8, compared to other forms of radio-frequency micro-needling or skin resurfacing has several benefits, including more precise targeting of skin depth for deeper tightening and reduced risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, by virtue of the silicone coating on the micro pins.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

Morpheus8 can be used on any area of lax skin that is showing signs of ageing such as lines and wrinkles, anywhere on the body.

The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck, double chin and abdomen.

Knees and thighs are also a popular area for treatment.

Areas of the face and body that are showing signs of discolouration, stretch marks or acne scarring are also suitable for treatment.

HOW MANY MORPHEUS8 TREATMENTS WILL BE NEEDED?

Depending on your treatment regime and if you are a returning patient you can expect to have between 2-3 sessions.

For acne scarring, often a resurfacing treatment will be performed which may require 4 sessions for optimal results

WHAT KIND OF POST PROCEDURE CARE IS REQUIRED?

• No Makeup for 24-48 hours

It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the ageing process.
